Case Engelen
President

Prior to founding Titoma Case served for 5 years as the Managing Director of WeLL Design Taiwan, which he built into Taiwan's most successful foreign Industrial Design firm. Under Case's management, WeLL Taiwan designed and engineered high-tech products for corporations such as Polaroid, Microtek, NEC, LG, Princeton Graphics and Acer. His team was acknowledged by Business Week Magazine and won numerous design awards and more importantly, the 1999 "Best of Comdex", for an innovative PC tablet [the Qbe case study]. Case has an Ms in Business from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and is fluent in English, Chinese, French and Dutch.

Wei Kong
Director of Industrial Design

British qualified designer and project manager with fourteen years international consultancy experience, six of which in Taiwan, Wei has designed and developed consumer and professional products for both Western and Chinese clients including Motorola, Hitachi, Acer, Unitech and Optoma. A seasoned project manager, Wei has a lot of experience mediating between international development partners, handling projects directly for clients, or as with Sunbeam and Alienware, supporting a client's existing design consultant to ensure successful implementation of the design in Greater China.

Bill Myers
Director of Electronics

Bill is Titoma's inventor in residence; he has over 20 years experience doing research for the US military, owns numerous patents and is an expert in electronics and chemistry, especially anything to do with light: (blue) lasers, UVA, UVC, LED, optic fiber, liquid light pipes, light boxes, custom light bulbs and LEDs, power supplies and ballast etc. Bill has an extensive network of resources all over Asia and the US, and knows how to arrange prototyping and production in such a way that Intellectual Property doesn't leak out.

Y.S. Lee
Director of Electronics - Audio/Video

YSL has had a varied career, having started as a programmer for the Taiwan Navy he went on to implement multi million US$ projects for IBM. He co-founded a firm that designed and manufactured STN LCD modules, and was active in embedded solutions for Internet Appliances. In his last job before joining Titoma he successfully led the development of a cutting edge integrated home entertainment device based on Sigma Design 85 series IC, which supports a wide array of formats such as Mpeg4, DVI, streaming (media adapter) & Wireless LAN. At Titoma YS is responsible for all projects in the Audio/Video arena. His extensive network of local connections in the industry is an extremely valuable resource.

Patrick McGrath
Director of Mechanical Design

Patrick brings to the table more then 25 years of experience in mechanical design and tooling. He worked more then 14 years as a tool engineer in Silicon Valley and at Ford, and went on to design packaging machinery. He then came over to Taiwan to head up a the opto-mechanical design department for a digital camera maker, registering several patents in lens technology. In the last 3 years Patrick has built tools in Taiwan for a large number of US clients, specializing in high precision, automotive and co-molding. Very much a hands-on designer he has clocked 10,000 hours on ProE. Patrick studied Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and is fluent in Chinese.



Todd Yeh
Director of Tooling

Todd Yeh has 25 years experience working in Taiwan's tooling & plastic industry. Over the years he has successfully tooled up housings for all sorts of electronic devices, household appliances, lawn mowers etc. using technologies such as double shot injection and gas assisted injection. The last 5 years he has worked almost exclusively for Western clients, both for export tools and for local production of plastic parts. This means that he is very familiar with European and US tooling design rules and standards such as DME and HASCO. These days he spends a lot of his time working with tool manufacturers in China.



Frederick Hsing
Director of Manufacturing, Taipei

Born in China, Frederick Hsing obtained an MS in Mechanical Engineering in Taiwan and continued to get his PhD and MBA from RPI in New York. He spent most of his career shuttling back and forth between the US and China, managing engineering and manufacturing programs for Pratt and Whitney. Implementing Total Quality Control he saved his firm US$ 20 M in manufacturing costs. Frederick negotiated and implemented numerous Joint Ventures in China and was responsible for setting up plants valued up to US$ 50 M. Frederick is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.



Walter Burt
Director of Manufacturing, Shanghai

Walter has been doing business in China since 1990, and brings more than fourteen years of experience in Asian industrial component sourcing and quality control. He is an American and speaks Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, and has a fair command of three other Chinese dialects. Heading manufacturing operations in Shanghai, Walter’s China team has experience in core manufacturing processes such as plastic injection, rubber compression molding, metal stampings, die-casting, sand casting, and lost wax casting. He handles our labor intensive, high volume projects.



Arthur Kater
Consultant for Software & GUI

Arthur has developed software for more than 15 years. The last 7 years he has been working in Taiwan as R & D and software manager for a number of Taiwanese companies in mobile computing and telecom. This experience has made him an expert in close coordination with the hardware manufacturing engineers on the one hand, and with 3rd parties like Microsoft and software companies on the other. His focus has always been to present consumers with a GUI (Graphical User Interface) that is as straightforward and easy to use as possible. Most of his recent work has been based on the Windows XP, XP Tablet and CE platforms.



Bernard Bowiz, Diplom Engineer
Consultant Wireless

German graduated Diplom Engineer, RF-technology & General Electronics. In Asia since 1979 with a broad range of experience from setting up complete manufacturing facilities to new product design. He has a lot of expertise n developing wireless applications, software and hardware. He wrote the first packet code for wireless data ransmission in 1982, designed the Terminal Server concept, wrote the first Chinese version of AMPS/ETACS cellular telephone software, and was the driving force behind the Inmarsat M Briefcase terminal. Further developed portable data terminals and has expertise in legal and compliance of financial networks. Bernard speaks English, German and Chinese.



Bill Evans
Product Development Consultant

Bill is the manager of Techman/Kanata. His company provides product development, manufacturing and procurement consulting. For over 20 years he has assisted new and mature companies to establish and achieve their product development, manufacturing, and operational goals. Bill brings the skills and experience between a design and a great product.

Joe Fernandez
Regional Mgr. East Coast & Latin America

Joe Fernandez, president of ETS, represents Titoma for the East Coast and Latin America. Joe is an accomplished electronics/software engineer with over seventeen years experience with firms like Motorola, and over 35 utility patents. His main fields of expertise are in power supplies/batteries, wireless design and internet appliances. His firm ETS provides 'concept-to-product' design development in close cooperation with Titoma, thus optimizing the products for low cost Manufacturing in China. Joe has been at the forefront of battery systems development such as Lithium Ion, Lithium Polymer, NiMH, NiCd, fuel cells. He has also developed a number of wireless products using Bluetooth, Zigbee, IEEE 802.11 and Cellular. Joe's internet appliance experience includes development of routers and DSL modems for major manufactures. Joe is fluent in English and Spanish.



Paul Belknap
Regional Mgr. West Coast USA

Representing Titoma on the West Coast is Paul Belknap, a 20 year veteran of California’s electronics manufacturing industry. Working for the valley’s leading contract manufacturers like Celestica he counts Alcatel, Lucent, Microsoft and Intel among his clients. In recent years he has focused on assisting Venture Capital funded start-ups, giving his clients the benefit of his experience in world-class best practices, from product design to launch, logistics, inventory management and repair services. Paul is based in San Jose, California.
